釉里红，瓷器釉下彩装饰手法之一，创烧于元代景德镇。是将含有金属铜元素为呈色剂的彩料按所需图案纹样绘在瓷器胎坯的表面，再罩以一层无色透明釉，然后入窑在1300℃左右的高温还原焰气氛中一次烧成，其红色用铜红料在釉下，故属釉下彩。

洪武釉里红缠枝纹执壶简介：

 

釉里红缠枝纹执壶，明代风格，壶唇口，细颈，斜肩，硕腹，平底圈足。壶身作玉壶春瓶式，壶体一侧置弯曲细长的壶流，并以一云板形饰件与壶身相连，另一侧置曲柄，连接于颈腹之间，柄上端置一小系。壶通体绘釉里红纹饰，颈部分层绘焦叶纹、回纹、花果（石榴）纹各一周，腹部满绘缠枝牡丹纹、菊花纹，壶流亦满饰缠枝花卉，壶柄绘有缠枝花卉及卷草等纹饰。足内满施白釉，无款，壶盖为花卉钮及莲瓣纹，有细链与壶柄相连。

此壶造型优美，纹饰线条流畅，器形整体看来，器物造型匀称，丰满规整，尽显富贵。在装饰风格上一改元代纹饰繁密的特点，布局渐趋疏朗，采用分层装饰的手法，绘画粗犷而不失工整，具有鲜明的时代特征，是一件难得的珍品。
